Run by the Sydney Joomla User Group (SJUG), JoomlaDay Sydney 2014 showcases the award winning Joomla CMS (Content Management System) for building open source, responsive internet and intranet websites.
As event co-coordinator Peter Bui explains, "This year we are using the gaming metaphor of 'levelling up', of progressing from one level or stage to the next, to help web designers and developers take their Joomla websites and businesses to the next stage.
All JoomlaDay events are about sharing experience and knowledge and inspiring each other to ‘level up’. This year we have invited local, interstate and overseas speakers to share with fellow enthusiasts and professionals how they have ‘levelled up’ using Joomla."
JoomlaDay Sydney 2014 features a full day conference on Saturday 11 October and half day workshops on Sunday 12, tickets sold separately. The Saturday conference costs $99 and includes pre and post conference social/networking evenings. Sunday workshops start from $110.
Rod Martin, VP of Open Source Matters (OSM), the not-for-profit organisation, that serves the financial and legal interests of the Joomla project, will be giving a keynote speech at the Saturday conference on the current state of play of Joomla, its future direction and will be briefing attendees on exciting new developments such as, the service for Joomla that offers free for life hosting accounts.
